Arrowhead Global's CEO and co-founder, Chad Hill commented saying, "Receiving our 8(a) certification is a significant accomplishment but it's really just the beginning. We also intend to leverage the SBA 8(a) program as we expand our team and our capabilities to include civil engineering, specialty power/electrical and general construction."
The SBA 8(a) Business Development Program assists small, disadvantaged businesses by allowing them to compete for sole source government contracts for goods and services. Certification into the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program is a stringent process in which the business needs to be controlled and owned by an individual that is at least 51% socially or economically disadvantaged. The program spans over nine years with a four-year developmental stage and five-year transition stage. Within that time, SBA closely monitors the progress of the business on each stage to make sure they are accomplishing their goals.
Arrowhead Global receives SBA HUBZone Certification
Clearwater, FL, September 26, 2013 - Arrowhead Global, a Native American Owned, military hardware manufacturing firm, announced today that it has been certified by the US Small Business Administration for participation in the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program.
Arrowhead Global now qualifies for contracts specifically allocated for small businesses operating in HUBZone areas. Arrowhead Global anticipates the program will expand the company's ability to provide it's hardware manufacturing and product distribution services to federal, state and local clients.
"We are proud to receive this certification and excited about the potential of adding more jobs within our local community," said David Rittenhouse, President & CFO at Arrowhead Global. "The HUBZone certification will enable government customers to more easily access our well-honed skills and technical expertise in product design and development. Inclusion into the HUBZone program is a stepping stone which we will leverage to continue to establish long-term relationships with our government customers."
The SBA HUBZone Program helps create jobs in communities with statistically proven, economic needs and significant potential for growth and development. A qualified company gains access to federal set-aside contracts, as well as a price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions. Federal government agencies are required to have a defined percentage of all awards go directly or indirectly to HUBZone companies. Qualified HUBZone companies like Arrowhead Global help the government achieve this goal.
